# Getting started

Agent Authority records who owns an AI agent and which key the agent signs with.

- Every owner passes an identity check.
- Each record carries the registry's signature.
- Every change stays in the public history.

The registry reports ownership and signing authority. It does not shut down agents. It never stores an agent's private key. A personal owner's legal name stays private.

## Status

The registry at `https://agentauthority.org` is a test registry. Verification results carry `synthetic: true`.
